Certain builds of the up.time virtual appliance have a known compatibility issue with VMware Player running on Windows 7 in 32- or 64-bit mode.
You may find that the boot sequence fails with the following error:
kernel panic: not syncing - Attempted to kill init!
To resolve this issue, we suggest installing the full version of up.time on your Windows 7 host or any other appropriate target server. Note that this installation process typically takes less than 15 minutes.
