Each up.time component (data collector, user interface and database) can run on different physical servers with different operating systems.
The up.time components communicate via a standard TCP regardless of which OS is being used. For example, the up.time Monitoring Station may be installed on a Linux platform while the database uses SQL Server running on a Windows platform.
