Plug-in monitors provide an easy way to:
- Expand up.time's standard capabilities: add new service monitors to report on servers, services or other devices.
- Implement special customized solutions: plug-in monitors can provide capabilities beyond those offered by script-based custom monitors and can be fully integrated into the up.time UI with defined options that will be used when creating an instance.
- Share resources with the uptime community: all plug-in monitors released by uptime or developed by uptime clients are available on the Grid.
