The Uptime Infrastructure Monitor agent is a small software package that the Uptime Infrastructure Monitor monitoring station uses to gather performance data from the monitored system. Agentless monitoring is also available for most platforms. For more information on Agentless Monitoring, please refer to to Supported Agentless Platforms in Uptime Infrastructure Monitor.

* Running the RHEL 7.x Uptime Agents requires the the 'perl' and and 'net-tools' packages packages. Use the following command to install them:yum install perl
yum install net-tools
To run the Uptime Agent with xinetd, install the the xinetd package package using the following command:yum install xinetd
Users who do not want to install and use xinetd with RHEL 7.x Agent must start the Agent in daemon mode using the steps in the Knowledge Base article article Running the Uptime Infrastructure Monitor agent under Daemon Mode without Xinetd.
